Dr. Brandon Mason was born in Michigan, briefly raised in the US Virgin Islands, and then spent the rest of his childhood in Georgia in the metro-Atlanta area. He attended Auburn University and obtained his undergraduate degree in Zoology in 2013. That propelled him to Tuskegee University where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2017. Shortly after graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Mason was accepted into the internship program at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, CO, where he practiced for one year under the guidance and supervision of a seasoned group of specialists and general practitioners. Upon completion of his internship, Dr. Mason and his wife settled in the Denver area where he worked as a general practitioner with VCA for 3 years until being accepted to the ISU Small Animal Internal Medicine Residency Program. He completed his residency in July 2024 and is excited to continue his career at VCA Veterinary Specialists of Northern Colorado.
Dr. Mason was drawn to internal medicine during his internship. His veterinary interests include gastrointestinal disease, infectious disease, and endoscopy; however, he enjoys all aspects of veterinary internal medicine.
Dr. Mason and his wife are kept busy at home with their three dogs, Zip, Tulip, and Whiskey. The Mason family enjoys the outdoors and will often be found exploring hiking trails in the warmer months, In the winter, they can be found snowboarding on the groomed slopes and occasionally in the backcountry.
