Dr. Connie McMillan was raised in the New Orleans, Louisiana area and attended Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She has always wanted to be a veterinarian, but her life took a different course. After years in the printing industry, she decided it was time to pursue her dream and returned to school. Veterinary Medicine is her second career, and she is thrilled to finally be living her dream of working with animals. She graduated with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Her undergraduate work was completed initially at Northwestern State University of Louisiana, and veterinary prerequisites were completed at the University of New Orleans. After graduating veterinary school, she completed a Medical and Surgical Internship at Southeast Veterinary Specialists before joining the VCA team in Metairie. She is the Medical Director at VCA Airline Animal Hospital. She lives in Harahan with her three rescue dogs, Grits, a deaf Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Clementina and Elodie.
