Adriana Fisher, Medical Director

Dr. Adriana Fisher is a Native Alaskan that returned to Alaska to join our team in 2011, after receiving her veterinary degree at North Carolina State University. Dr. Fisher loves working with the sled dogs in our community to help them win championships while staying healthy. Other favorite patients of Dr. Fisher’s include all the birds, reptiles, and small critters of the Valley. Acupuncture and holistic medicine have become mainstays in how Adriana treats many of her patients. She believes that preventing disease with good health in nutrition and holistic care is key to our companion animals’ healthcare. Dr. Fisher became Medical Director of VCA Big Lake in 2015 and works hard to move the hospital forward in a direction that best serves our community in providing innovative veterinary care while helping strengthen the human-animal bond. While not in the hospital Dr. Fisher and her family enjoy hiking, enjoying Alaskan outdoors, running, and playing with their dog Mickey and two guinea pigs.
