Dr. Michael Maida graduated from the University of Bologna in Bologna, Italy, in 1978. He completed an internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City from July 1978 to September 1979, and on September 1st, 1979, he started practicing at Closter Animal Hospital. This was the culmination of a goal that he had pursued from the time he was a freshman in high school––to work as a veterinarian for dogs and cats in an efficient, friendly and warm animal hospital, offering excellent medical care and services with the support of a caring well knit staff who shares his love for animals.
In his free time, Dr. Maida enjoys spending time with his wife, Nancy, their children and four grandchildren, as well as their four-legged family members. Dr. Maida enjoys traveling, reading, skiing, crossword puzzles and gardening. He is also an avid runner and has completed three marathons.
