ICU Provides Advanced Care for Seriously Ill Pets

Deer Creek Animal Hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) provides 24-hour care and support for patients with life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

We maintain a state-of-the-art facility to provide compassionate and expert care for pets that need emergency and critical care assistance for:

  • Recovery from a major surgery
  • Severe bleeding
  • Poison ingestion
  • Severe debilitation

  • Grave illness

In many of these cases, intense monitoring, advanced pain management, and complex fluid or drug therapy is warranted. Patients in the ICU may require specialized equipment and medications to keep the body functioning normally while they recover.

Our diagnostic and monitoring capabilities include:

  • Access to diagnostic imaging (digital X-rays, ultrasound)
  • Advanced catheters
  • Blood pressure monitors
  • Continuous EKG monitoring
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Rapid in-house diagnostic testing, including blood gas and electrolytes monitoring
