Makenna started her career with VCA in December of 2024. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in marine science at Coastal Carolina University in 2022. Since then, she has worked hands-on with both domestic and marine animals including dolphins, sea turtles, stingrays, cats, and dogs. Her childhood love for animals is what grew her passion to work in the animal field, but she hopes to one day make it into the marine animal rescue and rehabilitation field. She and her husband love to spend time hiking, road tripping, and hanging with their three kitties at home.
