Diplomate of American Board of Veterinary Practitioners
Internship - VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital
Dr. Anne Murphy, a native of Ohio, is a second-generation Ohio State Alumni who joined our VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital family as a First Year Associate, over 30 years ago.
Board certified in 1997, by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (DABVP), Dr. Murphy has proven knowledge and technical expertise that goes beyond what is required to practice general veterinary medicine. Joining the ranks of only 900 DABVP worldwide, of which all must recertify their status every 10 years, she has earned the privilege to specialize in the treatment of cats and dogs.
For Dr. Murphy, becoming a veterinarian was always the only career she ever really considered. It all started with her childhood dream of owning a pony of her own. As a teenager she worked at a boarding stable mucking stalls and did market lamb raising projects for 4-H to bolster her larger animal experience. Thankfully, for us, once in vet school, her passions turned toward small animal care and today, Dr. Murphy helps set the standards of excellence at VCA Hollywood with her special interests in ultrasound, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Murphy's passion is not solely reserved for pets, as she and her husband, Tim, never miss a chance to travel, especially to an Ohio State Buckeye Football game. She enjoys live music, comedy, cooking and spending time with their Labradors, Clancy and Stout, and their cats, Tommy Boy and Finn.
