Dr. Higgs brings more than 14 years of service in the Michigan Army National Guard to his career in veterinary medicine, an experience that has strengthened his dedication to leadership, teamwork, and remaining calm under pressure—qualities that are especially valuable in emergency medicine. He completed his clinical training through the MSU Veterinary Medical Center, where he developed a strong focus on surgery, critical care, and client education. Together, these experiences have shaped his approach to providing thoughtful, compassionate care for patients and their families.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Higgs enjoys staying active and, most importantly, spending quality time with his family.
