Dr. Lindsey Anderson is the medical director and a veterinarian at VCA North Rockville Animal Hospital in Rockville, Maryland, where she leads the medical team in delivering thoughtful, high-quality care for pets and the families who love them. Since joining the hospital in 2009, Dr. Anderson has built lasting relationships with clients while helping guide the hospital’s commitment to collaboration, strong medical standards, and compassionate care.
As medical director, Dr. Anderson works closely with the veterinary team to support consistent diagnostics, clear communication with clients, and individualized treatment planning for every patient. She believes the best veterinary medicine happens when doctors and families work together as partners so pets receive care that supports both their health and their role within the family.
“Veterinary medicine is about more than treating illness. It’s about building relationships with pets and the people who love them, and helping families make informed decisions that support their pet’s health and quality of life.”
Dr. Anderson earned her Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Science with minors in Biology and Microbiology from Mississippi State University before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her background in both wildlife science and veterinary medicine shaped her thoughtful, whole-animal approach to patient care.
Her professional interests include dermatology, preventive care, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine. She approaches each case like a puzzle, carefully gathering clues and working with clients to understand what their pet is experiencing so the best care plan can be developed.
“My role is to help find the clues that explain what a pet is experiencing and guide families through the process so they feel informed, supported, and confident in their pet’s care.”
What Dr. Anderson values most about her career is the long-term relationships she has built with clients and their pets over the years. Watching pets grow, supporting them through different stages of life, and getting to know their personalities and quirks are the moments that continue to make veterinary medicine deeply rewarding. Those relationships are also what shape how she leads the hospital team each day, helping create an environment where collaboration, communication, and thoughtful medical care remain at the center of every visit.
At VCA North Rockville Animal Hospital in Rockville, MD, Dr. Anderson works alongside a dedicated team of veterinary professionals to support pets and families throughout the community. Together, they focus on providing compassionate care, thorough medical evaluation, and clear guidance so families feel confident in the care their pets receive.
