Lindsey Anderson
Medical Director DVM

Dr. Anderson has been with VCA North Rockville since September 2009 and has been medical director since April 2012.

It never occurred to her that she would become anything other than a veterinarian, having always had animals as members of the family and a strong interest in science. She earned a Bachelors of Science in Wildlife Science with minors in Biology and Microbiology at Mississippi State University (Go Bulldogs!) before entering their College of Veterinary Medicine. Despite being a Mississippi native, Dr. Anderson feels perfectly at home in the DC Metro Area. She was blessed to start her career under the wonderful mentorship of Dr. Mel Davis, Jr., the previous medical director. She currently practices small animal medicine (cats and dogs) with special interests in dermatology, behavior, and internal medicine. Her personal goal is to use her skills and knowledge to keep pets happy, healthy, and harmonious in their family.

Dr. Anderson lives in Maryland with her husband, Kenneth, and their pets Tyrion (Pembroke Welsh corgi), Faust (black DSH), Crookshanks (red tabby DLH) and Nyar (ball python).

"When I was young I wanted to be a veterinarian just because I loved being around animals. My family has always had pets who were considered my 'siblings.' As I matured it also became about making animals' lives better. Now that I am a practicing veterinarian, it is all of the above AND the relationships with pets and clients that brighten my day and make me love my job."
