Dr. Katan graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She has a Master's in Public Health and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology. Dr. Katan has worked in small animal practices since 2009, finally landing as the Medical Director here at VCA Ocean Beach Animal Hospital. While the well-being of her patients is the number one priority, she is also interested in leadership. As well as being passionate about developing systematic change to create sustainability in veterinary medicine.

She enjoys hiking with her children and dogs and is an active member of the PTA, serving as the treasurer for her daughters school. Whether it's caring for her pets, doing fun activities with her kids, or staying up to date with the latest advancements in Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Katan always has something going on.
