Tim McDaniel, RVT, CCFP, is the Hospital Administrator at VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center. Tim brings years of hands-on experience in veterinary medicine, leadership, and education. He earned his Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology from Modesto Junior College in 2016 and furthered his studies at Kansas State University and Tarleton University. As a Registered Veterinary Technician and Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional, Tim is passionate about supporting veterinary teams, fostering strong leadership, and addressing burnout in the field.
Before moving into administration, Tim was a Lead RVT and RVT Supervisor, where he loved training and mentoring other veterinary professionals. He also spent a decade teaching Veterinary Technology at Modesto Junior College and Carrington College, helping to shape future RVTs.
Tim cares deeply about animal welfare. In 2008, he started a nonprofit horse rescue that helps rehabilitate horses from abuse, neglect, and abandonment. His love for rescue animals doesn't stop there; at home, he cares for a variety of pets, including his rescue dogs Duncan, Cobweb, and Raven, as well as cats PO Box and New Guy. He also has six horses (Shadow Walker, Forest, Rein, Autumn, Lauren, and Rafi) and a goose named Karen, who hilariously tries to alert other geese about the food at his place.
Beyond his professional role, Tim finds balance and fulfillment in caring for his rescue horses, maintaining a flock of chickens, and cultivating a thriving garden. His commitment to the well-being of both animals and veterinary professionals is reflected in his thoughtful leadership and continued dedication to advancing the field.
