Wendy Bouma (she/her) is a member of the Emergency and Critical Care team at VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center and brings more than 15 years of experience in veterinary medicine. She has worked in a variety of roles, including veterinary assistant, supervisor, and practice manager, which has given her a strong appreciation for both patient care and the people who provide it.
Originally from California, Wendy has a strong interest in emergency and critical care, leadership development, and building supportive, effective teams. She enjoys creating systems that help teams work more smoothly and allow patients to receive the best possible care.
Outside of work, Wendy loves spending time with her children and pets, hiking, and visiting the ocean or river. Her pets include Mudslide, an energetic Malinois and Dutch Shepherd mix, and her cats, Banshee and Hobo Quiggles, who are always close by.
