Dr. Paris van den Akker is originally from Santa Barbara, California. She received her bachelor's degree in biology from Massey University in New Zealand in 2013 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. She worked in general practice for 2 years prior to pursuing a rotating internship at BluePearl Specialty and Emergency Pet Hospital in Irvine, CA, which she completed in 2021.

Dr. van den Akker lives with her husband and their dog, Tommy, and when not working she enjoys traveling, reading, and going on hikes.
