Dr. Thornton was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, where she began volunteering and working in veterinary practices during her high school years. She attended Florida State University (Go Noles!), earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Entrepreneurship in 2019.
Dr. Thornton went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 2023. Following graduation, she moved to Colorado to begin her veterinary career at VCA Animal Clinic of Parker, where she enjoys working alongside a team of dedicated animal care professionals.
Dr. Thornton is passionate about fostering the human–animal bond and enjoys partnering with pet parents through education and collaboration to support their pets' health and wellness through every life stage.
At home, she shares her life with Nala, a sassy cat, and Gus, a goofy American bulldog mix. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Thornton enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, and teaching herself to cook at home.
