Kelly Nitsche, Medical Director


Internal Medicine

Dr. Nitsche is a graduate of Texas A&M University receiving his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences in 1979, Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Sciences in 1981, and DVM in 1983. He was in general practice for 18 years and has spent the past 15 years in small animal specialty medicine. He is board certified in the specialty of canine/feline clinical practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (2000, 2010). After completing a residency in small animal internal medicine, he achieved board certification by the American College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. His primary interest is cardiology, but also enjoys endocrinology, hematology, and gastroenterology. He currently serves as a staff clinician as well as the Medical Director for the Animal Diagnostic Clinic. At the appointment of Mayor Ron Kirk, Dr. Nitsche served the citizens of Dallas during an 8 year term on the Animal Shelter Commission and was instrumental in securing replacement of the antiquated Oak Cliff animal shelter.
