A Rhode Island native, Dr. Melissa Drake is thrilled to be back in her home state, serving the community she loves! She earned her undergraduate degree in integrative biology from Harvard College, then completed her veterinary degree at Tufts Cummings School in Grafton, MA.
During veterinary school, she was actively involved with the on-campus spay/neuter clinic, where she discovered her passion for surgery and community-based veterinary care. She joined the VCA Atwood team in 2025 and is excited to build meaningful relationships with both her patients and the people who love them.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Drake enjoys relaxing with her cat, Reece, as well as solving puzzles and spending time in nature—especially swimming when the weather gets warm.
