Kendra was born and raised in the deep south of Texas in a small city called Harlingen. She has always had a passion for animals since a young child and decided she was going to help animals when she grew up. She became a certified pet groomer in 2008. It was this career choice that relocated her up to the state of Alaska in 2013. Although she did love making a difference in how pets looked and felt, she craved something more. In August of 2018 she was hired at VCA Eagle River as a medical assistant and quickly learned she wanted to become a licensed veterinary technician. With the grooming background, she already had the skills needed to begin her training. She transferred to VCA Big Lake in July of 2023 so she could reduce commute time and be home with family more. Kendra enjoys all the various duties that veterinary technicians are responsible for but loves running anesthesia for surgeries.
During her off days Kendra enjoys spending time at home with her husband, son, and daughter and her "household zoo". She has three dogs, three cats, two rabbits and two gerbils that she loves tremendously. Her hobbies include watching horror movies, hiking with her family and dogs, and caring for all of her house plants.
