Margot Ulsom, Medical Director
Dr. Margot Fairbanks Ulsom grew up in Connecticut, obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology at Columbia College in NYC and then went on to UCD Veterinary School in Dublin, Ireland. After graduating in 2013, she started her career working as a mixed animal practitioner in Wyoming and later in Montana. In 2017, she moved to Alaska and made the switch to small animal medicine and emergency care. She joined us at VCA Big Lake in 2021 and became Medical Director of the hospital in 2022.
Her primary interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine and emergency care, but she enjoys most aspects of the veterinary field. She has a profound compassion for the human/animal bond and appreciates being a positive contributor to that relationship.
Outside of work, Dr. Ulsom enjoys many of the activities that the magnificent Great Land has to offer with her husband, son, Border Collie and kennel of Alaskan Huskies.
