Sarah Johnson, Staff Veterinarian
Dr. Sarah Johnson grew up in the suburbs of Chicago (go Cubbies!) and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biology from Blackburn College in 2010. She obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Illinois in 2014 and began working in small animal medicine and shelter medicine before moving to Oregon in 2016. While working in Oregon, she earned her Master's in Public Health from the University of Iowa. She eventually made her way up north to Alaska in 2018 and now calls Chugiak home. After working all around Alaska as a relief veterinarian, she has made VCA Big Lake home.
Her special interests include dentistry, internal medicine, and exotic animal medicine.
She believes that every patient should be treated like her own, and is excited to provide quality medical care to the pets of Big Lake.
Outside of work, Dr. Johnson enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, and everything that Alaska has to offer for an outdoorswoman.
