Dr. Freiwald has been involved in veterinary medicine for more than 25 years. At the age of three, she declared to her family she wanted to become an “animal doctor!" After receiving her zoology degree from UC Santa Barbara, she completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Western University of Health Sciences and then completed a vigorous small animal internship at Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles. She spent over six years dedicated to overnight emergency care- finding deep fulfillment supporting families and their pets during times of crisis. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she is well known for her compassionate patient care and emergency skills under pressure. She enjoys performing emergency procedures and emergency surgeries. In 2015, she received Congressional Recognition for her role in treating a police K9 Officer shot in the line of duty. In 2026, she received her second Congressional Recognition for performing emergency surgery to save the life of police K9 Officer! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, working out, and exploring the outdoors!
