Lex is a certified veterinary assistant at VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Centre Park in Columbia, Maryland, where she supports the hospital’s commitment to compassionate veterinary care and strong relationships with the families they serve. In her role, Lex focuses on helping pets feel safe and comfortable during their visits while helping families feel reassured, supported, and confident in the care their pets receive.
Lex completed the veterinary assistant program at Anne Arundel Community College and earned her certified veterinary assistant (CVA) credential. Her path into veterinary medicine began with her first job at a pet store, where she cared for a wide variety of animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, dogs, and kittens. That early experience helped grow her passion for animal care and ultimately led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
“My goal is to provide comfort and support for both pets and their families so they feel confident their beloved pet is in good hands.”
Before returning to animal care, Lex gained healthcare experience working as a pharmacy technician and later as a sterile processing technician. These roles strengthened her attention to detail and commitment to patient care, skills that continue to support her work in veterinary medicine today.
She is especially interested in continuing to develop her technical skills and hopes to gain deeper expertise in anesthesia and surgical support for veterinary patients.
“I love being able to show empathy to pet owners while helping care for their animals. Supporting both pets and their caregivers is one of the most meaningful parts of this work.”
At VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Centre Park in Columbia, MD, Lex is part of a team dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where pets are treated like family and clients receive thoughtful guidance throughout their pet’s care. Her commitment to patient comfort and compassionate care helps strengthen the trusted relationships the hospital continues to build with families across the Columbia community.
