At VCA Daniel Webster Animal Hospital, we help pets live long, healthy and happy lives. We work hard to deliver the best medical care for your pets, and the best experience for you, the pet owner.
Located in Bedford, our veterinarians, technicians and pet-friendly support staff are trained to the highest standards. Their thorough knowledge of the latest procedures and medicines ensures that our patients receive the best in preventive and healing care.
VCA Daniel Webster Animal Hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care to the communities of Bedford, Merrimack, and Greater Manchester. Since 1976, we have developed lasting bonds with New Hampshire’s companion animals—cats and dogs—and the families who love them. We have grown over the years and love how our eight veterinarians and our complementary staff work together and bring a wide variety of experience and interests to your pet. We love what we do and strive to provide you with the utmost in service, technology, and compassion. Combined with proactive preventive care, we provide your pet with a lifetime of care.
In March, we celebrated our 40th anniversary of providing care for pets and the community. In December, Dr. Heald and Dr. Rooney made the decision to join the VCA Animal Hospital network. This allows us to continue to “be” Daniel Webster Animal Hospital and concentrate on providing the best care for our clients and patients, while leaving the day to day operations to a group of highly trained individuals skilled in human resources, accounting, legal AND veterinary medicine. By doing this, we now have access to a network of 1,000 hospitals, specialists and unlimited educational opportunities.
What does this mean for our clients? You will note some differences on our logo, sign, receipts and name tags but, otherwise, we are all still here and will show the same dedication and skill at keeping your furry family members happy and healthy. We are excited about this partnership with VCA and sincerely hope that you are too!
We look forward to continuing to provide state-of-the-art quality medicine and exceptional client experiences to our community. Thank you for entrusting us with your pets’ care.
We harness the scale and strength of our global network while acknowledging each individual's contribution. We work locally to improve the lives of all who interact with our brand.

At the Manchester Animal Shelter, we believe all animals are deserving of life, respect and care. Our goal is zero-population-growth through spay/neuter programs and services that focus on education, medical care, fostering and adoption. Friends of Manchester Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization which started in 1996. The shelter takes in homeless, abused, and abandoned animals in the city of Manchester. We provide shelter, medical care, and spay/neuter to every animal that comes through our doors. In operation for nearly two decades, the shelter has helped provide care and find loving homes for over 20,000 animals.
