Tonya Amiri, DVM, an associate veterinarian at VCA North Atlanta, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She brings diverse expertise from an English Literature and Philosophy background at George Mason University, and from her many years of work in the early 90s with AIDS-service organizations in Washington. DC. In 2001, she obtained her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Virginia Tech. After 13 years of owning her hospital, and honing her skills in diagnostics, ultrasound, and leveraging cutting-edge technology, she joined VCA in 2020. Since then she has continued to enjoy contributing her knowledge passionately to her work. She is a devoted parent of three and has four pets that share her home. When not caring for her patients, she enjoys travel and music festivals in her free time.
