Dr. Susan Holt joined our team in December 2017. She graduated from University of California at Santa Cruz with a Bachelors in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology in 2005. She then attended University if Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2009. She spent the first nine years as a general practice veterinarian in Southern California performing spays and neuters at the Humane Society while also working under a board certified veterinary surgeon in Los Angeles. Dr. Holt spent her free time in the sunny weather rescuing and re-homing homeless animals. Even though she had built her name in the California rescue world, her heart still had a home in Massachusetts as she is a native to South Weymouth. She moved home in July of 2017 to be closer to her family and her three beautiful nieces. Dr. Holt’s special interests include soft tissue surgery, urgent care and internal medicine. She has recently become certified in grief counseling for pet loss by the American Academy of Grief Counseling. Dr. Holt’s hobbies include traveling, going to the beach, running and spending time with her two dogs Sprout and Denny.
