Dr. Acquaviva graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Upon graduation, he completed a one-year rotating internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital followed by a one-year surgical internship at Veterinary Specialty Center of Delaware. Dr. Acquaviva continued his surgical training by completing a surgical residency at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. He is a board certified veterinary surgeon.
Dr. Acquaviva is proficient in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. He has published research investigating the use of locking plates for bone fractures. Dr. Acquaviva's clinical interests include tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO), tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA) surgery, fracture management, arthroscopy, neurosurgery, and minimally invasive soft tissue surgery.
