Dr. Victoria Fliehr, originally from Livermore, California, earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Western Oregon University. She went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine. While in veterinary school, she also pursued a Master of Public Health at the University of Minnesota, driven by her interest in how animal, human, and environmental health are all interconnected.
Prior to joining VCA Valley Oak, Dr. Fliehr practiced general medicine throughout the Bay Area and spent more than a decade working in wildlife rehabilitation and medicine. These experiences shape her professional interests today, which include emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, wildlife medicine, and One Health medicine, an approach centered on the shared well-being of animals, people, and the environment.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Fliehr stays active with hiking, biking, and yoga, and loves any opportunity to travel and explore somewhere new. At home, she's kept company by three pets: Ari, a German Shepherd; Indy, a Great Dane/Labrador mix; and Pugsley, her cat.
