Jessica's love for animals started at a young age and was visibly expressed through her trying to take every animal she could catch, inside for some TLC. Her parents were very supportive of her passion and even agreed to volunteer with her at an animal shelter on a weekly basis. Even if that meant driving an hour each way to clean cages housing rats, rabbits, hamsters, and guinea pigs. Jessica's passion for animal care and husbandry continued throughout her childhood and which eventually led her to earn her bachelor's degree in animal science from Rutgers University in 2020. Following graduation, she began working at a wildlife rehabilitation hospital, where she developed a strong foundation in wildlife medicine and obtained her New York State Wildlife Rehabilitation License. Eager to expand her veterinary knowledge and clinical skills, Jessica pursued and completed her Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology through Penn Foster College.
Jessica joined VREC in 2022 as a veterinary assistant while attending Penn Foster, and quickly demonstrated her dedication to patient care and professional growth. Through hard work and continued learning, she advanced to veterinary technician in training, then licensed veterinary technician, and now serves as the ER veterinary technician supervisor. She is currently working toward completing her master's degree in veterinary clinical care, which she plans to finish in 2026. Jessica has a strong passion for learning and enjoys sharing her knowledge by mentoring and teaching those around her.
Outside of work, she volunteers at both a rabbit rescue and a wildlife rehabilitation hospital. She cares deeply about VREC Westbury, its patients, and its team members, and looks forward to continuing to support the hospital's growth and success.
