Dr. Phillips was born and raised in Lanesborough, MA and currently resides in Stockbridge, MA. She graduated from UMass Amherst in 1980 with a degree in animal science. After that, she went to Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her doctorate in 1984. She has been practicing veterinary medicine for 25 years. She came on part-time at All Caring when the hospital first opened in 1998, and became full-time when the hospital joined with VCA in 2006. She is now also the medical director of the hospital, as well as a veterinarian here.

Dr. Phillips has a special interest in homeopathy. She took the ANHC Professional Course in Veterinary Homeopathy for 3 years, then did 2 summers of courses with the National Center for Homeopathy. She completed the New England School of Homeopathy program in 2002. Dr. Phillips has been very successful with her use of homeopathy in treating animals. She also became "Master" Reiki certified in 2012.
