Michelle Holmes is a pet groomer at VCA Animal Care Associates in Colonial Heights, VA, where she has been caring for pets since 1990. Over more than three decades at the hospital, Michelle has helped generations of pets look and feel their best. Michelle began her career in the kennels before pursuing her passion for grooming and building a lifelong career helping pets feel comfortable, cared for, and confident.
Grooming quickly became Michelle’s true passion. Determined to pursue that path, she spent a year working double shifts while apprenticing under an experienced groomer. After completing her training, she stepped into the grooming role and has continued serving pets and their families ever since.

Over the years, Michelle has built lasting relationships with the pets and families she serves. Many of her grooming clients have trusted her with their pets for years, allowing her to watch puppies grow into senior companions and develop a deep understanding of each pet’s personality and needs. Those long-standing relationships mean a great deal to her, and she values the trust families place in her to care for pets who often feel like part of her extended family.
Outside of the grooming salon, Michelle has a special passion for rescuing and caring for senior dogs. She believes older pets deserve patience, comfort, and a gentle approach, a philosophy that reflects the same care and compassion she brings to every pet she grooms.
