Dr. Taylor Leigh James serves as the medical director at VCA Animal Care Associates in Colonial Heights, VA, where she helps guide the hospital’s commitment to high-quality veterinary medicine, clear communication, and compassionate care. In addition to caring for patients, she works closely with the veterinary team to support consistent medical standards and ensure pets and their families receive thoughtful, evidence-based care at every stage of life.
Dr. James earned her Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University. She brings a strong foundation in small animal general practice medicine, with a special interest in soft tissue surgery. She believes the best outcomes come from individualized treatment plans, open dialogue, and ensuring each pet’s care reflects their unique needs.
