Dr. Marisela Gonzalez-Cruz moved to New England from Colorado in 2020. She attended Colorado State University where she obtained her BS in Psychology with a minor in French in 2018, moved onto CU Boulder and graduated with an MA degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology in 2020 before moving to Massachusetts to attend Tufts Veterinary School. After graduating from Tufts in May 2025, she decided to stay in New England and made the move to Portsmouth after falling in love with this coastal city in June 2025.
Throughout her veterinary career, she has worked in zoos, both in the US and Mexico, small animal shelters and small animal clinics with a focus on exotics. Her career interests include cats, dogs, exotic pets, diagnostic imaging and preventative medicine.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys traveling to see her family in Mexico and Colorado, spending time outdoors paddle boarding, hiking or walking through downtown with her Husky Mix, Freya, cooking and exploring the culinary scene with her significant other, and looking for new adventures in the New England area.
