Hometown Care at VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital

VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital's purpose is to make a significant positive difference in the lives of the people and animals that it serves by establishing the standard of care in the Chicagoland area, and serves as a resource for the veterinary community. Our hospital provides state-of-the-art health care services for companion animals in a compassionate fashion that satisfies our clients' needs and wishes.

Our veterinarians work closely together to ensure your pet receives the best care available. We have specialists in emergency and critical care, internal medicine, interventional radiology, medical oncology, neurology, and surgery.

Our hospital is equipped with in-house stat laboratories, which allow our veterinarians to quickly perform many diagnostic tests to achieve an accurate and rapid diagnosis. This is especially important in critically ill animals and those requiring immediate or emergency treatment. Our advanced imaging department provides ultrasound, CT, and MRI.

We are proud to be one of the few hospitals in Illinois offering interventional radiology. Interventional radiology has been a part of human medical care for more than 20 years, but this approach has been applied only recently to veterinary patients. Interventional radiology uses advanced imaging techniques such as fluoroscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound imaging to access different areas and structures of the body for therapeutic treatment. We also offer Laser lithotripsy, an alternative to traditional surgery or medical dissolution as treatment for removal of urinary stones. It is considered minimally invasive when compared to surgery.

We are excited to now provide hemodialysis, hemoperfusion and therapeutic plasma exchange for AKI, intoxications, and immune mediated disease patients respectively. VCA Arboretum View is one of two hospitals in the area to offer these services.

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) sets the standard for quality veterinary care for companion animals. As an accredited hospital, we voluntarily uphold the Association's high standards in 18 different areas and are routinely evaluated on over 900 different standards of veterinary care. Not all animal hospitals are accredited, and we are proud to be amongst only 12-15% of veterinary hospitals that hold this honor.
