Dr. Jacobsen was born and raised in our very own Benicia, CA. She grew up with many pets and through taking care of them, realized what a special bond we can have with animals. By the age of five she was performing exams on her own animals and it was then she knew she was destined to become a veterinarian. She volunteered as soon as she was old enough for the local adoption group, Solano County Friends of Animals, and eventually became a veterinary assistant for a local veterinary hospital.
Dr. Jacobsen received her bachelor's degree in animal science with an emphasis in pre-veterinary medicine from Chico State. She then completed her veterinary degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Southern California. She previously worked at a veterinary hospital in Concord, but wanted to return and work in her native Benicia. Dr. Jacobsen enjoys building lifelong relationships with her patients and their families. Her areas of medical interest include preventative care, dermatology and soft tissue surgery.
In her spare time, Dr. Jacobsen enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her fiancé, Evan, and fur-children, Chuck, an 11-year-old border Collie/Corgi mix, and Marmie, a 13-year-old orange tabby.
