Dr. Schroetter graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985 after only three years of undergrad at Ohio State. She originally came to Fredericksburg to work in mixed animal practice, specializing in horse reproduction. After five years, she decided to concentrate on small animals and came to work at VCA Chancellor. Her greatest enjoyment comes from witnessing and strengthening the human-animal bond: "I love to see a dog wag its tail in recognition of its owner."
When not at work, Dr. Schroetter has a passion for dog sports. She regularly competes with her two corgis, Blazer and Spice, in dog agility, barn hunt, fast cat, rally, and scent work. Her house is full of dog ribbons she has won. Other hobbies include reading a good book and fishing with her son.
"I like to see the pets when the owners have dropped them off for the day, how the pets react to seeing their owners when they come to pick them up. That is the most rewarding part of my job."
