Sandy Terry is the lead veterinary nurse at VCA Lakeview Animal Hospital. She graduated from BYU with a BS degree in Animal Health/CAHT. She's been in veterinary nursing for 38 years and has been with Lakeview Animal Hospital for 31 years. Sandy has four cats, Flynn & Ryder, and Lorelai & Lorenzo. (She's holding Lorenzo, a doll-faced white Persian, in her photo.) He is her 'boy who lived' as he survived FIP, a typically fatal disease in cats – he's her FIP Warrior! Sandy grew up in California and in Vancouver, Washington, but has lived in Salt Lake City since college. She has four wonderful children and three grandchildren, who are the light of her life. The thing that surprises people the most about Sandy is that she only became a US Citizen in 2020. She was born to English parents who were living in what is now Zimbabwe, Africa at the time of her birth. In her free time, Sandy loves being with her grandchildren, reading, running, writing, and tending to her 44 rose bushes, which is like 37 rose bushes too many if the truth be told. Sandy loves her job and enjoys all the beautiful souls she gets the privilege to tend to every day at work. She believes it is an honor to work with patients and aide in their journey to recovery, or better health. Sandy's motto is "Second-hand animals make first class pets'. 'Adopt, don't shop'. Life is richer and fuller when you are owned by your dog or cat and enjoy their unconditional love.
