Melanie was born and raised in Redwood City, CA. While attending college, she joined the VCA Los Banos team as an intern. She graduated from Western Career College with an Associate of Science Degree and has been a Registered Veterinary Technician since 2006. Melanie has 19 years of experience in veterinary medicine and has special interests in dentistry, orthopedics, critical care, and rescue. Throughout the years, she has sent over 300 shelter dogs to rescue. In 2020, Melanie took on the position of Lead Technician and in October 2023 she became Hospital Manager of VCA Los Banos.
Melanie has three rescue dogs: Rogue, a German Shepherd/Doberman Mix; Baxter, a disabled scruffy Terrier; and Brody, a Maltipoo. She has a cat named Livvy, who was adopted from a local shelter.
As much as she loves helping animals, she mostly enjoys making memories with her two kids and husband. In her free time, she likes to go to the beach, movies and gardening.
