Staff Veterinarian - Emergency
Dr. Emily Benfield obtained a Bachelor of Science from Piedmont University and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. After graduating vet school, she completed a small animal rotating internship at Kansas State University, and then completed a specialty internship in exotics at the Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic of Indianapolis. She has a passion for emergency medicine, and after working with wildlife sanctuaries in Guatemala and Florida, she has a deep love for wildlife and exotic animals.
Dr. Benfield was born and raised in Northeast Georgia near the Tallulah Gorge. She enjoys being outdoors as much as she can, hiking with her Golden Retriever, Ty, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. Sick 'em!!
