{Reposted from LA Animal Services} - Los Angeles, CA - July 5, 2022 -  LA Animal Services and VCA Charities makes it easy for animal lovers to bring home a new canine companion. Now through Friday, July 15, VCA Charities will be underwriting the adoption fees for the first 250 dogs adopted. View the wonderful pets who are available for adoption in our Centers by visiting laanimalservices.com/adopt.

“We continue to see an increase in medium and large size dogs coming into our shelters so we’re grateful to VCA Charities for their support to help these amazing canine companions get adopted and into their new homes,” said Annette Ramirez, Interim General Manager for LA Animal Services.

“Shelters across the country are experiencing serious capacity issues. The same goes is true for the shelters in VCA’s own backyard of Los Angeles,” said Kimberly West, Vice President of Corporate Affairs for VCA Animal Hospitals and President of VCA Charities’ Board of Directors. “Through VCA’s support and a grant from VCA Charities, we’re covering the cost of adoptions for up to 250 lucky dogs. Our goal is to lessen the stress on shelter teams, create needed space within those shelters and support the joy of pet ownership for families across Los Angeles.”

Dogs and cats adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, licensed, and microchipped, and adopters receive a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. In addition, canine companions adopted from LA Animal Services are also eligible for free dog training classes at the Paws for Life K9 Rescue People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA.
