Dr. Eugene Briskman has lived on Staten Island since high school and is bilingual in English and Russian. He has had a fascination with exotic animals since childhood. Being inspired by the movie Jurassic Park, his original aspiration was to be a paleontologist. By junior high school he was convinced that his future was to become a veterinarian.
Dr. Briskman is an active member in the Metropolitan Herpetological Society and has taken part in educational activities. Dr. Briskman attended NYU for undergrad, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology. Dr. Briskman continued his education at Tufts University, where he fulfilled his dream to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He is excited to start his career at VCA Staten Island Animal Hospital.
His veterinary interests include continued education in exotic animal medicine and soft tissue surgery. His hobbies are hiking, piano playing, video games, and weightlifting. What's a veterinarian without pets? Dr. Briskman has various snakes, lizards, a ribbed newt, and his newly rescued pup, Jojo.
