Dr. Mary McTague is pleased to join VCA Terrell Mill Animal Hospital. While her full name is Dr. Mary McTague, she often goes by Dr. Mary to make things easier for clients and staff.
She graduated in 2019 from Centro Universitário Serra dos Órgãos – UNIFESO in Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is the first graduate from that university to have her veterinary diploma validated in the United States.
Although Dr. Mary earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia, she chose to study veterinary medicine in Brazil to connect with her Brazilian roots and continue a long family tradition of veterinarians there. Because of her background, she is fluent in both English and Portuguese and is happy to conduct appointments in either language.
Her professional interests include feline medicine, internal medicine, and geriatric care. Outside the clinic, Dr. Mary enjoys staying active in the community and spending time with friends. She shares her home with four cats and a dog named Nelson that she has with her boyfriend. One of her cats, Brock, wears diapers and comes to work with her every single day. Clients may even catch a glimpse of him during their visit.

A Dra. Mary McTague está muito feliz em fazer parte da equipe da VCA Terrell Mill. Embora seu nome completo seja Dra. Mary McTague, ela costuma usar apenas Dra. Mary para facilitar a comunicação com clientes e equipe.
Formou-se em 2019 pelo _Centro Universitário Serra dos Órgãos – UNIFESO em Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, e é a primeira graduada dessa universidade a ter seu diploma de Medicina Veterinária validado nos Estados Unidos.
Apesar de ter concluído seu bacharelado na University of Georgia, a Dra. Mary decidiu estudar Medicina Veterinária no Brasil para ficar próxima a família dela e dar continuidade à longa tradição de veterinários em sua família. Com ela estudou medicina veterinária no Brasil ela é fluente em português e inglês e pode realizar consultas em ambos os idiomas.
Suas áreas de interesse incluem medicina felina, clinico geral e medicina geriátrica. Quando não está atendendo, a Dra. Mary gosta de passar tempo com amigos e família. Ela mora com quatro gatos e um cachorro chamado Nelson. Um dos gatos, Brock Lee, usa fralda e a acompanha a mãe dele ao trabalho todos os dias. Às vezes, ela até o apresenta aos clientes durante as consultas.
