Dr. Isabel Grillo graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She then finished an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Arizona Veterinary Specialist. She is also certified in veterinary acupuncture, and has added that training to our practice since 2011. Dr. Grillo started working at VCA Aspenwood in the summer of 2006 and left in the summer of 2019 to be the medical director at VCA Wingate. Dr. Grillo was born and raised in Puerto Rico and speaks fluent Spanish. When not at work, Dr. Grillo enjoys spending time with her husband, Wayne, daughter, Marialicia, and son, Hermán. The rest of the family includes their cats: Sabino, Elizabeth and Midge, and their dogs: Zoe (black Lab/Great Pyrenees) and Arya (husky mix).
