Dr. Cameron Mandel, PhD, grew up in Las Vegas with multiple golden retrievers and rescued cats. He received his BS in Veterinary Science from the University of Nevada in 2013, his DVM at Washington State University in 2017 and his PhD in Immunology and Infectious Diseases, also at Washington State University in 2022. He joined the VCA Airport Irvine team in April of 2023. 

Dr. Mandel has spent several years working on a project car. He also enjoys online gaming with his long-time girlfriend. He lost his beloved bearded dragon, Gregor, during Covid and hopes to add a dog to his family soon.

Dr. Mandel has special interests in veterinary diagnostics, microbiology and public health; however his favorite part about general practice is being able to see a direct impact on the lives of both pets and their parents as clinical signs are resolved through the use of diagnostics and medical interventions. Additionally, he is most grateful to provide preventative care to support the best quality of life for all of his patients.
