Dr. Jessica Heuss is so happy to be a member of the VCA ARECA team. She joined VCA ARECA in 2016 after completing an emergency and critical care residency at a busy private practice in Las Vegas. Since joining ARECA, she has provided support to the growth of the emergency and critical care department beyond what she ever could have anticipated! The varied caseload and collegial environment make ARECA her perfect work "home". 

Dr. Heuss graduated from Iowa State University in 2011 and moved to Las Vegas for a rotating internship followed by a specialty emergency and critical care internship prior to her residency. Falling in love with the climate, culture, and people of the southwest, she has been very happy to be able to remain in this part of the country. Dr. Heuss' professional interests include trauma, sepsis, multiple organ dysfunction and coagulopathy.

Dr. Heuss serves as the internship director for VCA ARECA and is in direct support of advanced training of our associate clinicians.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Heuss enjoys reading, relaxing with her husband and cats (Cooper, Aventador, Porsche and Wraith) and spending time with friends (now that it's allowed again)!
