Dr. Elizabeth Dymond Szabo is a veterinarian at VCA AVH Animal Hospital in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania, where she partners with pet families throughout the Slate Belt and surrounding communities to support long-term health through preventive medicine, comprehensive medical care, and thoughtful surgical services. She is committed to helping clients feel informed, confident, and supported at every stage of their pet’s life.

Dr. Dymond earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and returned to the Lehigh Valley to practice at AVH. She brings extensive experience in preventive care, chronic disease management, and general surgical procedures, including spay and neuter surgeries, mass removals, and dental procedures with and without extractions. She believes the best outcomes come from early detection, proactive planning, and individualized treatment tailored to each pet’s unique needs.

Dedicated to compassionate, evidence-based medicine, Dr. Dymond values continuity of care and long-term relationships with the families she serves. Her approach blends preventive planning with surgical capability so families in Pen Argyl and nearby communities can access both routine wellness care and necessary procedures within a trusted and familiar environment.

“Preventive care allows us to protect a pet’s health before concerns become more serious, and that proactive approach makes a meaningful difference over time.”

What Dr. Dymond values most about her role is building enduring relationships with clients and guiding them through both routine wellness visits and more complex medical or surgical decisions. She finds fulfillment in helping families feel steady and reassured, especially when navigating chronic conditions or procedural care.

Dr. Dymond practices evidence-based medicine and values thoughtful, individualized recommendations that align with each family’s goals and support long-term wellness. She encourages open dialogue and works collaboratively with families to create care plans that feel manageable, thoughtful, and aligned with their goals.

“Strong veterinary care is built on trust. When families understand the plan and feel comfortable asking questions, it strengthens the partnership and supports better outcomes for their pets.”

Dr. Dymond looks forward to continuing to serve pet families in Pen Argyl and the surrounding Slate Belt communities while providing preventive, medical, and surgical care rooted in partnership, expertise, and compassion.
