Dr. Ilia Medina is a first generation college student from Chicago who earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from Bradley University in 2015. Between completing her undergraduate degree and entering veterinary school, Dr. Medina joined the VCA Bolingbrook team in 2015 as a veterinary assistant. Throughout her veterinary school career she would return to VCA Bolingbrook on her breaks and continue working as a veterinary assistant. In May of 2020, Dr. Medina earned her DVM degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, becoming the first doctor in her family! Her passions are nutrition, preventative medicine, dermatology, and dentistry. Her hobbies include thrift shopping, spending time with her family, and beagles. She enjoys working with the fun, supportive, and loving team at VCA Bolingbrook and is excited that she was able to return to the hospital where she started her veterinary career.
