Kim Apgar

Assistant Hospital Manager

LVT, VTS (ECC), CHPT

Kim is a licensed veterinary technician with more than 15 years of experience in emergency, critical care, hospice, and specialty veterinary medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Business Management with a specialization in Equine Studies from Cazenovia College and an associate’s degree in Veterinary Science from SUNY Delhi. Kim has been licensed in New York State since 2008 and achieved her Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) certification in Emergency and Critical Care in 2014. She is also a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Technician through the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. Throughout her career, Kim has worked in large emergency and specialty hospitals, hospice and palliative care practice, academic and teaching settings, and equine rehabilitation. Kim is an active member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians and Nurses, and the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. 

Kim currently serves as our hospital manager and is passionate about mentorship and professional growth. She focuses on building a collaborative, supportive environment for both staff and patients, helping ensure the continued success and growth of the practice.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time outdoors, especially at the barn. She shares her life with her pug, Molly, and her horse, Sapphire, who keep her grounded and inspired both personally and professionally. She also volunteers as a liaison for the Street Dog Coalition in Ithaca, NY.

Administration

The hospital Administration team consists of management personnel who oversee all staff members, hospital activities and the facilities. Together, they keep the hospital running smoothly, ensuring quality patient care and excellent client service. From the moment you check in, our administrative staff is here to deliver the best possible experience to you and your pet before, during and after your visit.
