Hometown Care at VCA Desert Inn Animal Hospital

Providing State of the Heart Veterinary Care since 1977.

If you are looking for a vet hospital where your pet can feel safe, comfortable and well cared for, VCA Desert Inn can be that security. We are conveniently located East of the world famous Las Vegas Strip at the cross streets of Pecos-Mcleod and Mojave for your cat, dog, and small mammal needs. Since time is usually of the essence when it comes to your fur babies, we take walk-ins, emergencies, as well as scheduled appointments. We have hours to suit the unique Vegas schedules of our clients, Mon-Sat 6am to 8pm and Sunday 7am-8pm. Desert Inn has multiple staff members who can assist you in Spanish. We impart an extensive amount of services varying from wellness, accident/injury, boarding, and even breeding. Our very own Dr. Arn worked with the International Semen Bank to establish the first semen bank in Nevada. We also offer a treatment option for Feline Hyperthyroidism. VCA Desert Inn’s Feline Radioactive Thyroid I-131 Treatment is the only of its kind here in Nevada. In addition to pet wellness services like vaccinations and early detection of disease, we offer surgical services like spays/neuters, dental cleaning, pain management, digital x-rays, and internal medicine. We have an online pharmacy that can ship directly to your home and we carry Royal Canin, Purina, and Hill’s Prescription diets. Our staff includes a Nutritional Advisor which is another great resource for your pet’s dietary needs.

VCA Desert Inn has a close relationship with the nearby Animal Foundation and works with various rescue groups throughout the city. As advocates for great pet care, the hospital also participates in multiple community events and travels to a number of local dog shows to perform Baer Hearing tests throughout the year. Furthermore, we are an AAHA accredited hospital which only 12-15% of US Veterinary Hospitals get this distinction. This means the hospital is evaluated on 900 veterinary standards of excellence every three years. These merits are correlated to anesthesia, diagnostic services, surgery, pain management, dentistry, and patient/emergency care. We are proud to hold the AAHA accreditation just as much as we are the 100 plus years of combined experience our doctors have. They apply all of their years of veterinary practice to each patient, keeping the pet’s best interest in mind. Their knowledge and responsiveness sets them apart and the hospital has been voted Best Veterinary Practice of Las Vegas 2018 by the readers of the Las Vegas Review Journal!

Our hospital also collectively works to make your experience as fluid and stress-free as we can. We understand the financial aspect of veterinary care can add to the anxiety of a visit. In order to ease that we can help with the application for Care Credit and accept it as a form of payment as well. In addition to Care Credit knowledge, our Client Services staff is well versed in claim submissions for pet insurance and can also answer any questions regarding our Care Club plans. No matter the situation you and your pet find yourselves in, out veterinarians and staff will treat your pet with great care while keeping your informed along the way. Although life with pets can be unpredictable, you can count on receiving efficient, modern care, with the support of a team that feels more like family, every time.
