Dr. Castro joined the family of VCA Edgewater Shores as an associate veterinarian. She is a native Floridian, growing up on a farm in South Florida. This is where she discovered her dream of being a vet at the age of 8. With wonderful people around her and hard work, Dr. Castro realized that dream when she graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. She previously spent 17 years of her career as an owner and sole practitioner of her own clinic. It was an experience she would not have traded, but it was time for a change. That's where VCA Edgewater Shores came in. The hospital is in very close proximity to where her old clinic is, and VCA afforded her the opportunity to focus on being a vet without all the worries of a business owner, too. Plus, she could bring her clients and staff with her. How cool is that?!
