Dr. Wilkins assumed the role of Medical Director at VCA Firehouse Animal Hospital in January 2025. Following graduation from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989, Dr. Wilkins worked in a mixed animal and exotic practice in Houston, Texas for four years. He then worked briefly at VCA Countryside Animal Hospital before becoming an Associate Veterinarian at VCA Woodlands Animal Hospital. In 2002, Dr. Wilkins assumed the role of Medical Director of VCA Woodlands Animal Hospital.
Dr. Wilkins' medical interests are broad and include surgery, internal medicine, and dermatology. He enjoys getting to know his furry four-legged patients as well as connecting with their pet parents. He always does a thorough exam for each visit and likes to focus on wellness care and helping develop a wellness plan to help keep his patients healthy through all life stages.
Dr. Wilkins is happily married to his wife, Connie. They moved to the foothills outside of Denver to be closer to their adult children and granddaughter. The Wilkins are active members of their church and enjoy spending time with their family and friends. Dr. Wilkins also enjoys outdoor activities including fly fishing, hiking, camping/RVing, and backpacking.
