Dr. Betsy Adamson graduated from UC Davis in 1988. She came to Anderson and worked in a mixed animal practice (horses, llamas, dogs and cats), until 2002 when she joined the team at VCA Gateway Animal Hospital. In 1996 she became certified in Veterinary Acupuncture, and in 2008 went on to complete a 2 year course in Chinese herbology. Dr. Betsy enjoys offering acupuncture and Chinese herbs as both primary and ancillary treatment to help her patients. While acupuncture is primarily used in the western world for pain control and geriatric care, when combined with Chinese herbs it can be incorporated into a broad variety of medical treatments. When not working in her part time position at VCA Gateway, she keeps busy with her ambulatory llama and alpaca practice, as well as spending time with her horses. Dr. Betsy has been active with endurance training (50-100 mile rides), and also spends time horse packing in the mountains.
